Ardell Brede became Mayor of Rochester, 星空无限传媒 on January 6, 2003. Before being elected, he held several positions at Rochester Methodist Hospital and the Mayo Clinic.
Riverland honored Brede with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006. He also served as the commencement keynote speaker.
Brede was born in Austin, 星空无限传媒. He earned an associate degree in commerce from Austin Junior College, now Riverland, in 1959. He later completed graduate coursework through the University of 星空无限传媒 Extension and attended management programs at Brigham Young University and Mayo Clinic.
He and his wife, Judy, have three children: Leslie Kennedy, Scott Brede, and Jennifer Brede.
During his time as mayor, Rochester has consistently ranked among the top ten most livable cities in the nation and has received recognitions such as Star City, All-America City, and Money Magazine’s “#1 Best Place to Live in America.”
