Dr. Whitehouse is a published author and researcher who has taught a variety of university and community-college philosophy courses (see list below).聽 She is the full-time tenured instructor of philosophy for Riverland Community College and has experience teaching online, on-campus, ITV, and hybrid/tri-modal classes.聽 She has received distinctions for excellence in teaching and enjoys working with students as they explore philosophy and all that higher education has to offer.

TEACHING ACHIEVEMENTS- Nominee, 星空无限传媒 State Board of Trustees Excellence in Teaching Award
- Recognized for teaching excellence by three student-services departments, including TRIO departments assisting first-generation college students
- Responsible for curriculum development, assessment, and program review of Philosophy at Riverland Community College
- Increased TRIO enrollment in university courses
- Completed Quality Matters review and certification of three online Riverland Community College philosophy courses (Ethics, Introduction to Philosophy, and Logic)
- Developed one of the first QM-certified Logic courses in the United States
- Developed and contributed three new courses (Health Care/Medical Ethics, FlexPace Ethics, and Philosophy of the Arts) to the Riverland college curriculum
AUTHORED BOOK/RECENT SCHOLARLY WORK
- How Ruins Acquire Aesthetic Value: Modern Ruins, Ruin Porn, and the Ruin Tradition (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018)
- Peer reviewer for two Taylor and Francis journals and The Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism
- Participant in teaching workshops and presenter of original scholarly research at over ten academic conferences (national and international)
